Gear Rental/Outdoor Recreation
Looking for adventure? We've got everything you need for your next outdoor activity! We rent everything from coolers to fishing boats and our shelves are stocked with information on all types of outdoor activities. Take a bike ride into the local mountains, climb some rocks in the Cleveland National Forest, or enjoy our beautiful coastal waters. We have all the gear you need for your outdoor adventure! The Outdoor Adventure Center is located on Naval Base San Diego in the Admiral Robinson Recreation Center. The OAC is open to all authorized users - military personnel, their families, DoD civilians and sponsored guests. Stop in to rent the outdoor equipment and resource materials you need for your next outing. Rent surfboards, wetsuits, snorkel sets, boogie boards, kayaks, canoes, and more at the OAC. Outdoor Gear Rental Point Loma has all you need for camping, sailing, fishing and other water sports.
Equipment is available for rent at daily and multiple-day rates. Reservations are permitted for some party rental equipment and some outdoor equipment; all other rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Winter Activities
Long weekend getaways are just the ticket for enjoying Southern California’s wintertime adventures. Ski, snowboard, or hike in our nearby hills and mountains, then make your way to the shoreline for boogie-boarding, snorkeling, paddling or surfing on our sparkling coastal waters. Why settle for one activity when you can enjoy them all? Get a taste of all the action and more when you rent wintertime gear from OAC, NBSD or Gear Rental Point Loma.
Equipment Check Out & Check In
Please allow time for staff to check over the equipment with you at check in. Tents, watercraft, grills and large orders require extra time.
Working Parties
If you have a large order, please bring your own working party. OAC staff, while happy to assist, may not load or unload your vehicle.
