We specialize in all your automotive needs from changing/balancing tires and lift rental to steam cleaning, diagnostic and code reading. We supply the tools and the “know-how,” you provide the labor. Don’t forget to check out our Automotive Convenience Stores for oil filters, wiper blades and more at greatly discounted prices! We also offer special order parts.
Wood Hobby
The Naval Air Station North Island Wood Hobby Shop (Bldg. 825) is the ONLY military wood shop in the San Diego area! It is open to all eligible MWR patrons. Visit our huge 6,000 square foot facility with an OSHA-certified dust collection system, three table saws (one dedicated to crosscutting), radial arm saw, panel saw, chop saw, two band saws, two disc sanders, stationary belt sander, spindle sander, two drill presses, two lathes, two joiners and a 24” plainer, sanding tables, work benches, storage lockers and more! We also offer sheet goods and lumber for sale at competitive prices. Usage fees are per hour or full day. Open Saturday and Sunday 9 am-5 pm. Not open on weekdays. First time users must go through mandatory safety training, Saturdays 9-10 am.

NRSW Auto Skills Shops Have It All!
San Diego's largest Auto Hobby Shop is at Naval Base San Diego, with over 100 stalls including seven drive-on vehicle lifts, three tire/brake lifts and a Convenience Store which stocks approximately 3,000 line items for performing routine maintenance, tune ups and brake work. Special order parts are available on normally a same day basis. Complete re-manufactured engines available at jobber prices. Automotive Diagnostic, Code Reading and Emission Pre-Checks performed. Brake Drums and Rotors surfaced at a discount when pads or shoes are purchased in out convenience store. A wide variety of other automotive services performed on and off site. Lock Out Services available for a reasonable fee.

Auto Maintenance Monthly Training Programs
Learn general preventive vehicle maintenance from a certified mechanic on the second Saturday of every month. The workshops are FREE and refreshments are provided for all participants. No vehicle needed to attend, just bring a pen and notebook and dress accordingly with closed toe shoes. Reserve your space today by calling 619-556-7009.
