Two hours from downtown San Diego in the Imperial Valley lies Naval Air Facility El Centro. As the winter home to the world famous Blue Angels, El Centro is a wonderful stop to watch air operations or enjoy top-notch recreation facilities. Each March, the El Centro Air Show marks the official start of air show season. Many military members and retirees stop in El Centro at the RV Park or dine at the Mirage Club in the newly renovated lounge. There are fitness facilities, swimming pools, driving range and a go-kart track that make this base a true desert oasis.
