DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  The incumbent serves as a liaison between the Fleet and Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) departments. Supports the department in delivering programs to the shipboard community and facilitate fleet participation in departmental activities. The Deployed Forces Support Coordinator (DFSC) works closely with Recreation Department Athletic Directors, Publicity Managers, Information Tickets and Tour Managers and all ( MWR) department facility managers. Provides training to Recreation Services Officers, Fund Custodians and Afloat Civilians by presenting the Fleet Recreation Management Course as a qualified course manager. Provides technical training in the functional areas of a float recreation program accounting, auditing, procurement, general program administration, and fund management. Manages the Commander Navy Installation Command's (CNIC) fleet exercise/recreation equipment grant program for the Southwest Region. Surveys home ported ships to determine exercise/recreation equipment needs, both short term and long term. Develops internal controls, budgeting, policy interpretation, procurement, and financial management. Performs other related duties as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDFormal education with a four-year baccalaureate (bachelor's) degree from an accredited college or university with a major in recreation administration, exercise science, tourism or physical education. A master's degree in recreation administration or business administration is desired. Equivalent experience may be substituted for formal education. Specialized training includes completion of the Fleet Recreation Management Course (FRMC) and formal qualification as Course Manager for the FRMC. Incumbent must obtain this certification within one (1) year of accepting this position.

Specialized experience of at least five years to reflect knowledge of policies and procedures regarding the expenditure and accountability of U.S. government appropriated and non appropriated funds, policies and procedures regarding the procurement, control and disposition of U.S. government appropriated and non appropriated property. General knowledge of Navy policies, organization and administration with in-depth knowledge of Navy Recreation policies, administration and procedures. Knowledge of exercise equipment suitable for shipboard use and skill in designing shipboard fitness spaces. Skill in presenting briefs, lectures and formal education programs. Ability to manage and coordinate limited assets in response to the dynamic needs and requirements of the fleet. Knowledge of the principles of shipboard recreation underway and import.

The CDC Director is responsible for the administration of the facility to include implementation of developmentally appropriate programs budgeting and financial management, personnel management, program operations, and compliance, among other tasks. Applies professional knowledge of child development principles to supervise the CDC's developmental programming, to include ensuring implementation of a developmentally appropriate program that promotes the social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth of children in the age categories served. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is located in the Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department in Navy Region Southwest. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the up-keep, maintenance and repair of the recreation boats and boat trailers assigned to the marina boating program. Makes repairs, remolds and constructs by fiberglassing, lay-up, gel coating, color matching and spray painting. Performs general maintenance work of repairing and painting decks, hulls and interior spaces of small craft and assigned buildings. Performs periodic maintenance to outboard engines including, replacing spark plugs and checking or replacing oil in units and/or corroded components of engines and mounting brackets. Assist with diagnosing malfunctions and performs adjustments and repairs required to maintain small gasoline engines and diesel engines. Make repairs to structure, small engine, and plumbing by removing, replacing, plastering, paneling, cleaning, unclogging, packing, and sealing defective parts. Repairs rigging, splices line, steps masts, sail repair, replaces both standing and running rigging as needed, plumbing & electrical repairs and fuels boats. Maintains schedule for replacing and repairing as needed. Launches and retrieves vessels ranging in length from 8 feet to 27 feet using a hoist or truck and trailer. May be required to operate watercraft to retrieve stranded or overdue boats. Operates a motor vehicle to pick-up and deliver materials. Checks vehicle for proper maintenance/safety checks, such as gas and oil. Secures vehicle in designated area at the end of day. The T&C Specialist will provide assistance with the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum/program that fosters the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive and language development of children and youth, ages 6 weeks to 18 years of age. Promotes school readiness and support ongoing school success. A comprehensive CYP training program directly correlates to the quality of child and youth program provided. The T & C will conduct orientation for new employees to the whole CYP system and provides them with the basic information that can be applied in all settings.
