SYNOPSIS OF MOVIES

DESPICABLE ME- Cast: Steve Carell, Jason Segal, Kristen Wiig, Will Arnett, Danny McBride. Rated PG for rude humor and mild action. Genre: Kids/Family and Animation. Runtime: 95 Min. Synopsis: In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknowest to the neighbors, hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout.  Surrounded by a small army of minions, we discover Gru planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon, yes the moon. Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad. PREDATORS-Cast: Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, Oleg Taktarov .  Rated R Genre: Action/Adventure and science Fiction/Fantasy. Runtime: 107 min. Synopsis: Royce, amercenary, reluctantly leads a group if elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold blooded killers—mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members—human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.

THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE- Cast: Nicolas Cage, Jay BAruchel, Teresa Palmer, Alfred Molina, Toby Kebbell. Rated PG for fantasy action violence, some mild rude humor, and brief language. Genre: Action/ Adventure, Comedy, science Fiction/ Fantasy. Runtime: 109 min. Synopsis: Balthazar Blake is a master sorcerer in a modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath. Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler, a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. I’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Genre: Action/Adventure, Drama, Science Fiction/Fantasy and Thriller.  Runtime: 148. Synopsis; Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible-inception. Runtime: 100 Min. Synopsis: Before becoming a CIA Officer, Evelyn Salt swore an oath to duty, honor, and country. She will prove loyal to these when a defector accuses her of being a Russian sleeper spy. Salt goes on the run, using her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture and protect her husband.

RAMONA AND BEEZUS- Cast: Joey King, Selena Gomez, John Corbett, Bridget Moynahan. Rated G. Genre: Comedy, Kids/Family. Runtime:104 Min. Synopis: The misadventures of young, irrepressible Ramona Quimby and her big sister Beezus come to life in this family adventure based on Beverly Cleary’s popular children’s book series.
